Campaña contra la malaria, 1939 |
This perforated stamp was designed by Francisco Eppens Helguera, the same artist that designed the present Mexican coat of arms. The stamp was issued in 1939, it is dedicated to a campaign against malaria, a mosquito borne desease. The value of the stamp at the time was of one cent. It shows a giant mosquito biting a man with his arms open to the air. It was printed by Talleres de Ipresión de Estampillas y Valores, the name of this institution is written at the bottom of the stamp, in my picture the name is a bit blurry.
